There's a global shortage of adolescent therapists. Many are not able to add to their burgeoning caseloads. As we are rolling into and through 2023, many young people are still dealing with the residual effects of pandemic isolation.
Not only are many reporting poorer mental health, but new findings reveal the experience took a physical toll on their brains. The teens are already in a major developmental period, and this has added to their experience of identity development, seeking autonomy, trying to figure our their gender and sexual identities and determining their religious and spiritual beliefs.
